ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Launched as a complement to the more conventional Political Sciences, the Political Arts Initiative (PAI) is interested in the ways in which people interact with and compose political ideas and actions through the various, diverse media of technology and the arts. Through exploring the ways in which photography, poetry, literature, music, performance and other creative arts interleave with political life, PAI drives new and alternative vehicles for criticism, elaboration, theorization, intervention, and activism.
Kicking off the 2014 PAI theme of movement, Geo-Caching The Hague invites those who live, study, and work in and around The Hague to engage in active citizenship through gaming the city. Collaborating with The Nutshuis and Gemeente Den Haag, PAI transforms The Hague into an urban playground for you to choose your own adventure. By moving physically through the city with a heightened sense of awareness, an openness to the unexpected, and an eye for discovery, our experience of this city of peace and justice moves beyond the space typically defined by political and legal institutions to capture those personal moments of interaction with the cityscape--the people and the pets, the architecture and the art, the laughter and the loneliness, the everyday and the exceptional.
Your perspective and your narrative shape this city: join us and express yourself!
